McConachie is a fast-growing neighbourhood just off the Henday between 50 Street and 66 Street in northeast Edmonton. The southern boundary is 167 Avenue. Access to the Henday gives a fast commute to head north of the city or to the Edmonton International Airport. McConachie has plenty of parks, green space and interweaving walkways that connect you to nature. Just minutes away from the Schonsee Wetland and the District-Parkland Nature Preserve living in McConachie offers a quick escape from the city into the great outdoors.

Once complete, the neighbourhood will have a mix of approximately two-thirds low-density dwelling units, and one-third medium density dwelling units. Three commercial sites are planned for the neighbourhood and are generally located on the south and western edge of the neighbourhood. Under development, one commercial site being added to the area is McConachie West on 66 Street offering restaurants, a convenience store, daycare, pharmaceutical and medical services. The existing McConachie Plaza located on 167 Ave has major grocery stores, restaurants, mechanical services and banking. If more services are needed Manning Town Centre is nearby on Manning Freeway where you can catch a movie, go out for dinner or shop the day away at the many box stores. North Edmonton has many recreation facilities and the two transit centres provide a quick commute to anywhere in the City by bus or LRT. The Northeast Community Health Centre is located just off 50th Street by the police station. The McConachie area also has many golf course and access to the river valley trail system just a short drive away. The 40 acre District Recreation Campus will be developed by the City of Edmonton and includes two school sites, athletic facilities and park spaces.

Christ the King Catholic Elementary and Junior High School opened in 2017. Soraya Hafez Elementary School has been put forth for 2020 in McConachie.
